verizon: prometheus mission connect

problem:

How do you promote a new home monitoring system for one of America’s biggest cable providers while maximizing their relationship with a summer blockbuster set over 100 years in the future?

solution:

You create an online experience that allows customers and fans to use your innovative product to step into the future and become a part of the movie.

execution:

When Verizon Home Monitoring and Control (HMC) was introduced it coincided with the much talked about Ridley Scott epic, Prometheus. Our task was bringing the two together. So, we entered the world of Prometheus and built an online game that allowed users to use HMC to control the ship.

Our original story took place off screen, casting users as a member of the crew. Their job was to monitor the ship while the rest of the team explored a temple found on the planet's surface. Using Verizon Home Monitoring and Control, users were able to lock and unlock doors, control lights and more. So, when a mysterious energy drain is detected, they were able to remotely access various parts of the ship to solve the mystery.

Game play actually doubled as a demo of HMC, and users were rewarded with exclusive content after completing each task. This content was created by our team in conjunction with FOX and Ridley Scott.

Prometheus Mission Connect led to the highest product click-throughs in Verizon history, while also creating buzz for the movie.
